2018 Reader Survey (And a Chance to Win a Gift Card)

I started this blog in the fall of 2014. My friends were always asking me for advice about hiking, and I wanted a place to share my outdoor adventures, so starting a blog seemed like the logical choice. The first month my blog was live, 91 people visited it. I was so stoked: 91 people wanted to read what I was writing! And some of them were people I had never even met. Crazy!

Since that very first post inspired by a fall backpacking trip, I’ve written close to 80 posts. I’ve written trip reports, gear advice, trail guides, recipes and more, and I’ve loved writing all of it. But last month over 12,000 of you visited my blog! Holy crap. (So funny that I used to think 91 people was exciting!)

Of course I’m still going to keep writing what I love, but now that there are more of you tuning in, I want to make sure that I write the kind of posts that you love too. But there’s a problem… I don’t know what you love because I’ve never really asked you. (Sorry, that was rude of me.)

So now I’m asking you: What do you love about Happiest Outdoors? What would make it better? I put together a short survey and it would be awesome if you filled it out. It’s only 10 questions and lots of them are multiple choice so I know it won’t take you too long. Plus there’s a little incentive: one lucky survey-taker will win a $25 gift card to MEC or REI!

Thanks for participating in my survey. I’m not longer accepting responses and have notified the winner by email.

Taryn, congratulations on those numbers! That is fantastic. For me being a guy the gear reviews are less important. I love reading the write ups about local hikes. I am yet to get into snowshoeing but it’s on the list. Keep up the great work with the blog!
